Summer Events at the Ely Public Library
Every Friday at 10:30 am - Preschool Storytime - Our regular weekly storytime featuring lots of good books, some early literacy fun, and a cookie at the end.
May 21 - 3 pm - Sarah
Stonich - for teens and adults - this MN author will
discuss her work. This program is supported in whole or part with
funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund
June 4 - First Day to sign up for the library's summer reading programs - Dig into Reading this summer at the library!
June 5 - 10:15 am - Minnesota Zoomobile - for all ages - lots to learn about the animals that the zoo will bring to visit
June 12 - 2 pm - Planting Program - for kids - Kids will have chance to make a planting container and plant a seed to bring home. This program is funded by Friends of the Library.
June 17 - 3 pm - Friends of the Library Book Club - for teens and adults - Discussing Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. You do not need to be a member of the Friends to attend.
June 19 - noon-6 pm - Friends of the Library "Members Only" Book Sale - for all ages - You can join or renew your membership at the door.
June 20 - 10 am - 6 pm - Friends of the Library Public Book Sale - for all ages
June 21 - 10 am - 4 pm - Friends of the Library Public Book Sale - for all ages - "Bag of Books" sale ... all the books you can fit into a bag for $3.
June 26 - 2 pm - Treasure Hunt - for ages 3 to 10 - Our annual Treasure Hunt ... find coins and redeem for prizes
July 4 - Library Closed
July 9 - 10:30 am - Minnesota Science Museum - for elementary ages - The science museum will bring the world of the dinosaurs to the library with hands-on activities.
July 15 - 3 pm - Friends of the Library Book Club - for teens and adults - Discussing The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin. You do not need to be a member of the Friends to attend.
July 17 - 3 pm - Ice Cream Sundae Party - for all ages - Kids will be served first! This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library
July 25 - 10 am - 6 pm - Hat Day - for all ages - Wear a hat to the library, win a prize, and we'll take your photo for our hat day display
July 31 - 7 pm - Pajama Storytime - for preschool ages - Come in your pajamas for this special after-hours storytime featuring bedtime stories ... we promise to wear our pjs too!
August 7 - 3 pm - Crafty Kids - ages 3-12 - We supply the stuff, you bring the creativity to this make-it and take-it program. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library
August 19 - 3 pm - Friends of the Library Book Club - for teens and adults - Discussing Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly. You do not need to be a member of the Friends to attend.
